This month, Green Angel Syndicate was delighted to discover that 2 of its 30 portfolio companies have been nominated for this year's prestigious Earthshot Prize.
The Earthshot Prize was launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in October 2020. It was designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years.
Much like Green Angel Syndicate, which is the UK's largest network of specialist investors fighting climate change, the Earthshot Prize is also on the lookout for positive solutions that will bring about positive change.
Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy's Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five 'Earthshots' or goals: protecting and restoring nature, cleaning our air, reviving our oceans, building a waste-free world and fixing our climate.
Green Angel Syndicate CEO Cam Ross says: "Huge congratulations to Qualis Flow and eleXsys from all of us at Green Angel Syndicate! Of course, seeing 2 of our 30 portfolio companies nominated for the Earthshot Prize validates what we already know – we invest in those companies that are having a real impact in the fight against climate change."
Brittany Harris, CEO and Co-Founder of construction tech company Qualis Flow says: "We are so honoured to be nominated for the Earthshot Prize. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey so far. With so many amazing individuals and companies tackling our global challenges, I am optimistic that together we can deliver the change we need to see."
Chief Commercial Officer and CFO of eleXsys Jonathan Ruddick says: "eleXsys is excited to be nominated for the Earthshot Prize. It underlines what a transformative impact our technology can have on climate change by increasing the amount of renewable energy that can be utilised by electricity grids worldwide."
