Exciting news! Silverstone, the iconic racetrack, is accelerating its sustainability efforts with 3ti Energy Hubs’ innovative Papilio3 solar car parks and EV charging hubs! As part of their Shift to Zero strategy, Silverstone has installed three custom-branded Papilio3 units across the venue, just in time for a thrilling summer of motorsport.
Papilio3 is a game-changer, seamlessly combining local mains power with solar panels, batteries, and EV charge points. This cutting-edge technology optimizes the speed and carbon intensity of EV charging while providing crucial grid-balancing capabilities. Made from recycled shipping containers, each unit boasts almost 20kWp of solar capacity and fast-charges up to 12 EVs at 7, 11, or 22kW.
Stuart Pringle, Managing Director of Silverstone, expressed his excitement, stating,
