NatureMetrics join HS2 Accelerator Initiative

Powervault are delighted to have been shortlisted for the 2018 UK Ashden Awards, the globally recognised measure of excellence in the field of sustainable energy. From a longlist of 49 organisations, Powervault have progressed to the final 20, in the category for ‘UK Innovation’.

The UK energy market is facing imminent change to keep up with the shift to renewables, and the National Grid is becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the transition to electric transport. The companies considered for UK Innovation in the energy market have been working towards balancing the grid during this energy transition.

Joe Warren, Managing Director of Powervault, said “It’s wonderful to be shortlisted for a prestigious Ashden Award, it is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Powervault team and we’re delighted to be recognised amongst fellow pioneers in sustainable energy.”

Ashden, the London based charity, founded the Ashden Awards in 2001 and since then has rewarded more than 200 enterprises around the world. This has led to a collective improvement in the lives of more than 88 million people and saved 13 million tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. Ashden’s mission is to advocate, and continue to award, those increasing energy access in developing countries until they reach a world where everyone has access to clean, affordable, reliable energy.

Along with the other shortlisted organisations, Powervault will be assessed through a rigorous judging process involving a panel of industry experts and technical assessments. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Royal Geographical Society in London on the 14th June.

Naked Energy is thrilled that Virtu has become one of the #1000solutions following a rigorous independent selection process

"Initiatives like the World Alliance and its goal of selecting 1000 efficient solutions, are exactly what we need to further enable investors, governments, cities and citizens to harvest the rich variety of clean technologies that already exist or are under development, and accomplish the goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and all the Sustainable Development Goals to catalyse a healthy and prosperous future for all.” Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC

Having met Bertrand Piccard at the Cleantech Forum in San Francisco and listened to his incredible story of overcoming so many doubters we were inspired to apply for the Efficient Solutions label. More than ever the world needs to think differently and to upset the status quo where many vested interests will always find excuses for not changing the way we generate energy for homes, businesses and industry.

"Each time I speak of protecting the Environment to heads of state or government officials, they tell me that it is too expensive. This Label is a strong message to them: solutions exist and represent the biggest market opportunity of our century. An opportunity which cannot be missed.” Bertrand Piccard
