GAV scoops premier awards for early stage investment
Within the space of a week, Green Angel Ventures has been named winner of the two prime categories for early stage investment in the UK. This is all the more notable as one of the two recognises the importance of the Green Economy in today’s investment spectrum.
At the end of June, BusinessGreen named Green Angel Ventures as winner in the Early Stage Investor of the Year category in the UK Green Business Awards. The following week, UK Business Angels Association awarded its Seed VC of the Year trophy to Green Angel Ventures.
These awards recognise the unique place Green Angel Ventures has taken within the early stage investment sector. GAV is pioneering an investment service range from start-up to Series B in early stage climate innovation. As Green Angel Syndicate, the team created this climate change start up sector when it opened the first specialist climate change angel syndicate.
This was successfully extended into specialist EIS Fund management in 2020, which in turn was further extended by a £10 million commitment from British Business Investments to co-invest alongside the EIS Fund. Now GAV is bringing its unique specialisation to the larger VC sector. This is the first time that both investor and investee can access a consistent standard of specialist excellence managing investments from seed to sell.
CEO Cam Ross explains:
“These awards are evidence that the spread of excellence created by Green Angel Ventures has been recognised and acknowledged by the investment community. Everyone involved with Green Angel Ventures deserves the credit for this achievement. It is a team effort. Our future plans will have even more impact as a result of our success to date.”
