eleXsys Energy wins Au$3.5m grant

Queensland will soon be home to the global manufacturing base for a game-changing renewable energy solution after eleXsys Energy was awarded a $3.5 million grant under the Australian Government's Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI).

The only Queensland company included in the Recycling and Clean Energy category, eleXsys Energy will match the Government contribution and establish a local manufacturing facility for its award-winning clean energy system.

Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management, Trevor Evans MP, joined eleXsys Energy representatives at its existing Enoggera base today to welcome the announcement.

The world-leading eleXsys technology, which was developed in Brisbane by the company's CEO and Co-founder Dr Bevan Holcombe, unleashes the full potential of locally generated renewable energy by solving major voltage problems.

Through the combination of a power electronics device and artificial intelligence (AI) software, eleXsys allows clean energy producers to feed multiple times more energy back into existing electricity grids. It turns large commercial and industrial sites into profitable solar and battery powered microgrids, or urban clean power stations, that will help to accelerate global decarbonisation.

eleXsys Energy Executive Director Richard Romanowski said the MMI grant was a great outcome for the company that would ensure its continued growth while also contributing to a clean energy future.

"eleXsys is a proven technology that changes the way we've been managing electricity grids for the past 100 years and empowers the world to produce much more renewable energy than we ever contemplated before," he said.

"Building our own advanced manufacturing facility will support more than 80 local jobs and is crucial to meeting the increasing demand for our eleXsys technology.

Mr Evans said the grant to eleXsys Energy, announced this week by Minister for Industry, Energy and Emission Reductions Angus Taylor, was a shot in the arm for Queensland's manufacturing sector.

The new eleXsys Energy Queensland manufacturing facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2022.

About eleXsys Energy

Invented in Australia, eleXsys™ is an internationally award-winning technology solution to the challenge of voltage volatility created by increasing distributed energy resources competing to dispatch energy into energy grids. The ever-increasing popularity of solar PV, wind and other clean energy distributed resources will continue to create challenges for network operators both around Australia and internationally to provide ongoing safe and stable energy to consumers. eleXsys Energy's eleXsys represents an important contribution to the stability solutions sought by network operators and their consumers, without the need for expensive network infrastructure upgrades. eleXsys is the critical enabling technology being installed at a major project at IKEA in Adelaide, which will see the retail centre become 100% powered by renewable energy by 2025.
