Meet Green Angel Syndicate Female Founders

08 March 2022

Green Angel Syndicate Female Founders

In October last year, Green Angel Syndicate’s Membership Manager Olivia Lyth chaired a GAS Insights Event with six of our portfolio’s female founders. On International Women’s Day, we’d like to revisit their stories, sharing some of their ideas and advice for female founders seeking investment.

Brittany Harris, Co-founder and CEO of construction startup Qualis Flow has some great advice for investors on asking those difficult or uncomfortable questions of female founders.

We take Diversity and Inclusion seriously at Green Angel Syndicate and seek to recruit members, employees and investee companies from all sectors of society. This is because the impacts of climate change affect all sectors of society, and also because through different perspectives and insights we can identify a wider range of options for successful business development. We believe that Diversity and Inclusion helps promote more effective commercial growth.

Here’s Tara Button, Founder and CEO of Buy Me Once, on what it’s like to be a female founder applying for funding with Green Angel Syndicate.

The Investing in Women Code, of which Green Angel Syndicate is a signatory, found that the proportion of female angel investors remains between 15% to 18% of the total investment community. It also found that only 6% of teams that receive funding are all-female, and 26% of teams are mixed gender. Here are some current GAS stats – figures that we’re proud of but always seeking to improve.
